WordPress vs WordPress

I now have two blogs

http://psyberspace.wordpress.com

and this one

http://psyberspace.walterlogeman.com

I tried to migrate to the commercial arm of WordPress to get better service in blog management — this one on Dreamhost, the WordPress.org one  got corrupted a few times. What a mess.

But I can’t abide the new Block interface on WordPress.com. Now I will investigate DreamPress here on Dreamhost. Hopefully my Classic plugin here will survive all the transitions.

Moving over the last 6 months of posts back to here went ok.  If it all goes well I’ll soon just have one Psyberspace blog!

Cheers, Walter

Changes to my blog

This website url is now http://www.psyberspace.wordpress.com, just as it was about 20 years ago, before I began self hosting.  Hope everything works. (To hell with a custom domain!)

New Walter Logeman page: http://walterlogeman.co.nz

New home for Thousand Sketches: http://thousandsketches.com

It has been a lockdown project to close my Dreamhost server. It has served me well but it took management — that I have hopefully outsourced to WordPress.com

More to do:

My email and some other people’s who have been on my Dreamhost.

Kate’s website & email.  http://katetapley.co.nz (coming)

My old Psybernet site??

I think I’ll be happier to do more blogging — It has been hard with a site that came up with Viagra ads etc.

This Blog Works on the iPhone again

I had a plugin that rendered this blog blank on the iphone. Switched to

WordPress PDA & iPhone 1.2.8

This plugin helps the users to view your blog in a pda and iPhone browser. By Imthiaz Rafiq.

& it works well.

The iPhone works OK with the WordPress default theme – no plugin – as well, but with this is marginally more usable.

Later:
Not so fast! The link directly to a post on Twitter leads to a poor rendition. You have to go directly to https://psyberspace.walterlogeman.com for the plugin to take effect!

There must be a better way!

Lots

Lots of tabs open of Firefox, this one, the origins of the current layout for this blog:  Kubrick at Binary Bonsai is here cause I’m looking for a way of making the font abit smaller. But I think I need to be off the hosted WordPress site to do that. This one  http://film.guardian.co.uk because it was linked to from the Kubrick theme page. While on the subject of Kubrick, we saw “Eyes Wide Shut” the other day, a friend recommended it for its “Jungian” aspect. Makes sense, the two protagonists are exploring a similar synchronous path, one in RL and the other in dreams.

Stanley Kubrick

The Kubrick Site & IMDB  More Kubrick, and we did more too, got out Paths Of Glory, but did not really like it much. Got that from here: Movieshack – Library

Only on Tab one of about 25!  The next:  Abit of vanity:  Looking for the oldest entry with my name in it and found one from February 1994 and more vanity, embarrasing:  1998 Psybernet Web page

Later… never did get to blog the other tabs… nevermind.
