iPad & art
Well the iPad does not meet my hopes. Not sure even a 2nd gen would do that. I think the philosophy might be flawed. Sad! Or is there something eklse brewing here?
Movie: Nine ***1/2
I liked it. It is a Broadway musical. More like Phantom of the Opera than 8 1/2 (I imagine – though I saw it I can’t recall anything but rambling B&W). I’d like to have seen more in Fellini style, or something… I sensed an incongruence. Maybe Hollywood is not the right form for an Italian movie.

We have some news, people. Dave Winer will be named a Visiting Scholar at NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute for 2010. He will assist the Studio 20 program, which I direct, as Technical Adviser. During the academic year Dave will also curate a speakers series at NYU on the intersection of technology and journalism, which of course is the running theme of our Rebooting the News podcast.
No Haiti Shock Doctrine!
I listened to the audio book of Naomi Klein’s Shock Doctrine last year & . With Haiti disaster I thought, right they’ll be in boots and all – no need to use the military, let nature do the killing for you. And sure enough, it seems the US is doing its best take over (even more) while the going is good. Some links follow.
